Community Impact
The Junior League of Bergen County has a long history of recognizing and meeting educational and charitable needs in our county. Part of our mission is to improve Bergen County communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our current projects include:
In October 2023 we launched our newest signature community project Empowering Environments, “Where Everyone Can Thrive”. This project creates indoor and outdoor spaces throughout Bergen County for growth and empowerment.
Done in a Days focus on short, intensive community projects that are completed in a single day. The JLBC works with many community partners such as:
- Boys and Girls Club of Lower Bergen County
- Center for Hope and Safety
- Family Promise of Bergen County
- Flat Rock Brook
- West Bergen Mental Health
International Find the Good Day – created by The Junior League – is dedicated to finding the good in yourself, your community, and the world around you. This Day is not just a date on the calendar; it’s a movement that reflects the timeless spirit of Junior Leagues – a legacy of kindness, empowerment, and community transformation. Together, we aim to make a difference by embracing the power of unity, positive change, and finding the good. Find the Good Day is celebrated annually on the third Thursday of September.
State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC)
The State Public Affairs (SPAC) Committee advocates on behalf of women and children statewide and on a national level.
Each year, outstanding female high school seniors who have demonstrated noteworthy interest in voluntarism are awarded scholarships toward higher education.
