February General Membership Meeting: A Discussion on Human Trafficking
A heartfelt thank you to our outstanding panelists: Assemblywoman Lisa Swain (NJ-38), Natalie Candela, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Doug Rager, Bergen County Human Trafficking Task Force. These outstanding community leaders shared their expertise and real-world insights on how Bergen County is preparing for the heightened risks that can accompany major global events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Their voices reinforced that this conversation is not about alarm, but about awareness, collaboration, and empowerment.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for this powerful discussion as well as taking action by assembling Kits of Care that will directly support individuals impacted by trauma, violence, and vulnerability.
As New Jersey prepares to welcome the world, this event reminded us that preparedness starts locally, awareness saves lives, and small, collective actions create lasting impact. Education, advocacy, and service build safer and more informed communities.
