Signature Project: Empowering Environments

Empowering Environments
Where Everyone Can Thrive
In October 2023 we launched our newest community project Empowering Environments, “Where Everyone Can Thrive”. This project creates indoor and outdoor spaces throughout Bergen County for growth and empowerment. Our first project was completed at West Bergen Mental Health in Ridgewood, NJ renovating their Art Therapy Room in October 2023. Take a moment to view the before and after video of our first Empowering Environment and our renovations photos of this amazing transformation.

Our first project of the 2024-2025 league year was renovating the STEM room at Boys and Girls Club of Lower Bergen County. in November 2024. This empowering environment inspires future scientists, engineers, technological geniuses, and mathematicians. The space is filled with fun under the sea and outer space murals, and colorful neon signs. It is bursting with microscopes, robotics kits, solar system models and a 3D printer. We cannot wait to see all the discoveries this environment inspires.
Our second project of the 2024-2025 league year was renovating the Music Studio at the Boys and Girls Club of Lower Bergen County in January 2025. This empowering environment inspires singers, song writers, DJs, and anyone interested in music. The space is filled with fun colorful murals and colorful neon lighting. It is bursting with microphones, headphones, remixing technology and a new MAC. We cannot wait to see all the creativity this environment inspires.

In April and May 2025 we installed a sensory garden at Flat Rock Brook Nature Center in Englewood, NJ. This space allows a full captivation of the senses highlighting local flower and herbs, a fountain, and all beautiful backdrop to the birds of prey sanctuary.

In 2028 for to celebrate our 100th year as an organization we will be taking on our largest Empowering Environment to date at The Opportunity Center in Fair Lawn, NJ. Here is a preview of the upcoming plans.
