Sustainer Chair Bio

Laura joined the Junior League of Bergen County as a provisional in 2006. During her
time in the League, she served in several leadership roles and as President in 2011-2012.
She was the recipient of the Janet Van Alstyne Award in 2018-2019 and was The JLBC’s
honoree at its Annual Festival of Trees Gala in 2023. Laura is currently a sustainer,
serving as Sustainer Chair to the Board., a position she also held in 2020-2021 Laura’s
work with the League connected her with several community partners, including the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lodi & Hackensack, where she previously served as a member of
their Advisory Board, and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, where she has been a
Trustee of their Foundation Board since 2012.

Beyond her dedication to The JLBC, Laura is a Trustee for the Ramsey Board of
Education, first elected in April 2008. During her tenure, she has chaired numerous
committees, served as the Board’s Vice President for 3 years, and has been the President
of the Board of Education since June 2017. She earned certification as a Master Board
Member as well as Certified Board Leader. She is also an executive committee member
of the Bergen County School Boards Association.

Currently, Laura is a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s brownie troop, serves on the
Troop Committee of Boy Scout Troop 31, and is an active member of several committees
in her church and both children’s schools. She was previously an active volunteer with
her local ambulance corps and rescue squad as well as several sports organizations. In
March 2025, she received an Icon of the Year award from her local Junior Women’s Club
for her volunteer service to the community.

Laura is a lifelong resident of Bergen County. She is an attorney with a long career in the
insurance industry. She earned her B.A. in psychology from Drew University, cum
laude, and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. She is admitted to the NY
and NJ Bar, the United States District Court of NJ as well as the United States Supreme
Court.

When she isn’t working or volunteering, Laura enjoys pilates, reading, and spending time
with her husband and two children.
