Last month, members of the Junior League of Bergen County (JLBC) joined friends and family to kick-off the holiday season at our signature fundraiser, the annual Festival of Trees gala. Held at the Alpine County Club in Demarest, this year’s gala proved to be an outstanding success, raising more than $30,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, silent and live auction items, and more.
Guests enjoyed a formal dinner, dancing, and the time-honored tradition of spectacularly decorated trees displayed throughout the venue. Among the most popular auction items, competition really heated up when it came to bidding on our private brunch package and for a chance to win a trip to Tennessee for a curated whiskey tasting!
As part of this year’s gala program, we also took the time to honor longstanding members and former JLBC Presidents, Alpine resident Mary Ellen Snow and Ridgewood resident Susan Madden. Throughout their League careers, both women have shown unwavering dedication to voluntarism and leadership within their local community and continue to emulate the mission of the JLBC as sustaining members.
For 32 years, the Festival of Trees gala has helped to significantly fund and support the League’s mission and thanks to this year’s fundraising efforts, the JLBC will continue to strengthen the skills of its female leaders while overseeing countless projects that will positively impact communities throughout Bergen County and beyond.
On behalf of the JLBC, we’d like to extend a special thank you for the hard work and creativity shown by this year’s Festival of Trees Chair, Rachel Oster, the dedicated committee members Christine Corbett, Kristen Lindstrom, Jennifer Nass, Ayana Pederigan, and Doreen Shammas, and sustaining advisers Courtney Lisecki and Cathy Newman
