Community Projects
The Junior League of Bergen County (JLBC) has
a long history of recognizing and meeting educational and charitable
needs in our county. Part of our mission is to improve Bergen County
communities through effective action and leadership of trained
volunteers. Our current projects include: StarPower! A workshop for 5th and 6th-grade girls and their parent/guardian
with a focus on key issues such as self esteem, bullying, cliques and
internet relationships. Done in a DayDone in a Day focuses on short, intensive community projects that are completed in a single day. Kids in the KitchenA program aimed at addressing the issues of childhood obesity and poor nutrition.
State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC)The State Public Affairs (SPAC) Committee advocates on behalf of women and children statewide and on a national level.
College ScholarshipsEach year, outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated
noteworthy interest in voluntarism are awarded scholarships toward
higher education.
